                                INTERJECTION

Meaning, Definitions, its types,
Explanation with Examples.

A sentence is a combination of different parts of speech as Noun, Pronoun, Adjective, Verb, Adverb, Preposition, Conjunction, interjection etc. Each part of speech has its own place and role in the sentence.

An interjection, properly speaking, is not a part of speech, since it has no grammatical connection with any other word or words in the sentence. It is merely an expression of exclamatory feeling or emotion.

An interjection is a word used  to express some sudden feelings of the mind.

An interjection is a word used in a sentence without having any relation with any word or words in the sentence nor it becomes any important part of the sentence. It is used to express feelings or emotions of the mind.

Following are the feelings or emotions and the interjections used for them.

Happiness or Joy
 Hurrah ! Ha! Ha!

Grief or sorrow
Alas ! Ah ! Ah me!

Surprise
 What ! Oh!

 For Shame!
